Touch Football Malaysia is pleased to announce the appointment of Brendon Lester to the position of General Manager / Technical Manager.

Touch Football Malaysia is pleased to announce the appointment of Brendon Lester to the position of General Manager / Technical Manager.

Brendon has been a long term and a well-respected supporter of Australia and Queensland Touch associations for the past 20 years.

Brendon will share his knowledge and bring a wide range of technical and managerial skills as a coach and presenter in his new role as General Manager / Technical Director for Touch Malaysia and will commence officially on February 1st.

Brendon has been a volunteer representative on various boards within his state of Queensland. Australia, including Chairman of the Brisbane Metropolitan Touch Association (one of Australia's biggest associations) and has held several positions over the years with Brisbane City Cobras.

At the same time he has followed his true passion as a referee and as a representative on the Queensland Referee Panel since 2007; the Australian national referee panel for 4 years, and he became accredited as a Level 6 referee officiating games between Australia v New Zealand, State of Origin and NTL.

Malaysia has been an official member of FIT since 2008 - has a similar population to Australia and the nation consists of 13 states and 3 Federal Territories. Touch is a new game played socially across the nation however has been picking up significant momentum over the past 12 months with Touch Malaysia coordinating tournaments and technical development programmes.

Touch Malaysia personnell have been meeting with the many Malaysian Government agencies over the past years so as to ensure a solid foundation for the future and will again host the Asian Club Championships & International Club Challenge in Kula Lumpur in June 7-10.

School and University programmes will commence officially in 2013 and numerous club events are already in play.

Touch Malaysia has a goal of staging the first national state championship's in conjunction with the June 2013 Asian Club Championships — so Brendon will certainly have his work cut out for him, however from all reports he is champing at the bit to get started.
