Topy Xu and Aaron Jones re-elected to the Board at FIT AGM

2025 was a full year for the operation with four international events taking centre stage and many new members joining the affiliation. We also launched two commissions – the European Commission and Women’s Commission and signed a momentous agreement with the China Rugby Football Association (CRFA).

The AGM was attended by 24 Full Members and 4 Observer Members of the Federation who were presented with the Annual Accounts and asked to vote on the election of board directors Aaron Jones and Topy Xu.

The Annual Accounts showed a slight loss of just over AUD $60,000 for 2025, as expected in a year without a major event. Forecast for 2026 is to return to a surplus with four large events planned, including the biggest Euros in history. Historically FIT has only achieved surplus in World Cup years but that is about to change with the organsiation now delivering more events and with membership growing.

FIT now has over 60 member nations, with new affiliations in 2025 from Albania, Argentina, French Polynesia, Greece, Montenegro and Ukraine. This is expected to grow further this year as we are in discussions with many more, spread as far and wide as Brazil, The Falkland Islands, Finland, North Macedonia, Poland, Cambodia and Korea, to name but a few. We are expecting to hit the 100 members target in the not-too-distant future.

It has never been a more exciting time to be involved in the sport and game of Touch. More people are playing, more countries are affiliating, more sponsors and investors are becoming interested and there are an increasing number of opportunities being presented to us.

We have another exciting season ahead with even more international competitions, teams and participants than ever before. We have no doubt the sport will be played competitively in 100 nations and rival other mainstream games in terms of participation numbers very soon – if it doesn’t already.
