In a major announcement for the global game of Touch, the game’s peak body has announced Inferno Sports as its new ball supplier until 2024.

The Federation of International Touch (FIT) operated an official tender process and invited proposals from five major ball manufacturers with Inferno Sports endorsed as the official Touch Ball supplier.

Bill Ker, Secretary General of FIT, said, “This agreement will cover the use of Touch balls for international events such as World Cups, regional tournaments such as the European and Asian Cups and test matches.

“The FIT Board took into consideration the importance of each manufacturer’s ability to supply National Touch Organisations with balls at an attractive price as well their ability to meet advised delivery dates.

“Our new supplier ticked all these boxes with ease, and we are excited by the prospect of working Inferno Sports owner and former Touch international Gavin Shuker and his team.”

In support of its tender, Inferno designed and manufactured trial balls which were assessed by players to be an excellent shape size and weight.

“Two sizes were supplied and trialled under wet and dry playing conditions and from individual feedback received the slightly smaller size ball has won the day,” said Mr Ker.

Mr Shuker is delighted to be involved in the development of a Touch (specific) Ball that can be used at local, state, national and international level.

“I am proud to be associated with the FIT and that we have designed a dedicated Touch ball that enhances the fact the Touch is a sport in its own right.

“We can’t wait to start manufacturing the new balls.

Additionally, Inferno Sports has confirmed it can personalise its Touch balls to meet the individual advertising and sponsorship needs of local and national associations.
