Development tour of China & Hong Kong

The Federation of International Touch is pleased to support the development of Touch in China & Hong Kong this June.

Sports Development Director, Peter Topp, visited China between the 7th - 12th June to attend the 2016 Beijing International Touch Tournament where over 60 teams competed across U12, U16, Opens, University and Masters divisions in both Mens and Mixed categories.

At the weekend Peter ran both coaching and referees courses for 22 individuals participating in the event. All were assessed, assisted and appointed with the help of Chris Dolahenty from the FIT Referees Commission. With the presence of CCTV5+, one of China’s biggest sports channels, at the event we're excited to see growth of Touch across China as the exposure of the sport increases alongside our continued support to the country.

We are equally pleased to announce that the Hong Kong Touch Association (HKTA) will host Peter this weekend. An introductory coaching course is being held on Sunday.

Peter will also attend the HKTA Summer League semi-finals plus other networking opportunities for our Sports Development Director to experience the local Touch scene in Hong Kong.

With luck he will be able to squeeze in some time to have a game too!
